About the Deck Park Planning Study

During the recent 30 Crossing project, the local community indicated support for a Deck Park spanning across I-30 between 6th Street and 9th Street in Little Rock. A deck park is an urban green space built on a structural deck over a roadway, typically a freeway or major highway. This proposed deck park will reconnect portions of downtown and East Little Rock separated by I-30, providing a safe and desirable pedestrian crossing and gathering place.

The study is led by the City of Little Rock, with support from a team of consultants and additional partners. Your participation will help ensure the plan reflects community needs and priorities.

This planning study is not related to the 30 Crossing Park project. Improvements to the 30 Crossing Park area underneath the new I-30 bridge are not included in the scope of this study. However, the study will consider effective ways to facilitate and accommodate connection and ties to existing and planned amenities in the area, including 30 Crossing Park.  See the project location map for more details.

This planning study will evaluate the feasibility of the project and develop conceptual designs that show how the deck park could connect neighborhoods, enhance green space, and support community activities.
